Having a clear understanding of how your brain and mind contribute to how you make decisions, how you take actions or react to what is important to you is the first step of achieving any major life goals in your life. It is normal and almost constant for human to want change, but understanding what change has the highest impact on your wellbeing is the job of your mind and taking actions that will lead to a great positive or negative outcome in your life is the work of the brain.
Michael Jorden believes everything happens twice in life, first inside your mind then it manifests in reality. Everything you do, from your habits, to your lifestyle are a result of your mind and imagination. The Bible says as a man thinks, so is he, we have to guard our mind and if you always think of spending, shopping or all the things you need to buy when you get money, then that’s exactly what you are going to do when you have money. Your thoughts are birthing ground for your reality and a feeding place for your brain.
Your thoughts and imagination feed your brain of your true desires then your brain collects it and commands you to act on it at the right time. Know your thought feed your brain and your brain commands your actions. As a man thinks, so is he.
To prove this above theory to you, try putting your finger in direct flames, now this decision is a choice because you already know what will happen, you know it will burn and hurt you, but you are going to do it anyway, so that comes from your mind (the decision maker). Now what happens when you put your finger in the fire? For some it will be for a second while others a little long (how long you hold your finger in the fire tells me how strong-will you are) now that is the mind in action. But it will come to a point when it got too much that your brain will command your hand muscles to contract that finger from the fire against your will (brain command action) the brain is designed to protect you and it does that by saving you from anything that brings discomfort even if it is you training yourself to achieve something in life, your brain will come against it as long as it gives you any discomfort. Your mind makes the decision, but your brain commands the action, and your brain is being fed your desires through your thoughts, imagination and what you read and hear. Don’t be confused.
Your mind is the decision maker, that is your willpower, your will-self that always decides that you will save and invest more, that you will build better habits, invest in your relationships, live free of sins, want to serve humanity and do better, be better as a person. Your mind is the silent reasoning behind your craving addiction that tells you, you need to stop because this thing is destroying you.
Your mind is your past, your present and your future and your decision commander and control room, but have you ever made a decision that you never kept? Have you set goals that you never achieve? Have you ever tried stopping yourself from something you know is bad for you, but couldn’t stop? Have you tried to control your spending but once you have money you just can’t stop yourself from spending until you run out of money? Have you ever tried eating less but once you see food you just can’t stop eating until you eat everything? Have you tried losing weight but only find yourself developing habits that make you gain weight? All of this happens because your mind has done its part which is to make the right decision but execution, action and quick reaction are commanded by your brain and not your mind.
Now who is your brain?
Your brain is the commanding officer of yourself, it takes no command from anywhere but it takes instructions from your thoughts and imagination. The brain is designed to protect you, deliver your deep cravings and desires, it is your doing ability, your action commander and your capacity to act and react. But your brain doesn’t obey your mind, it only bends to your thinking or thoughts, your imagination and your cravings, that’s why it responds to your thinking more than your planning. Thoughts come from desires and wishes which is the domain of the brain while planning and building comes from the mind because the mind is your past, present and future. To master how your brain will respond more to your mind is the point of true accomplishment but developing your thoughts, desires and cravings to match your dreams and your mind is the easiest way to achieving whatever you want out of life.
This is indeed a top notch and the ways the mind and brain were analysed are practicable to real life experiences. The impact received from this article are massive. Thanks
